ELMINA INTERNATIONAL ISLAMIC SCHOOL

Elmina International Islamic School is one of the private schools planned within the Elmina Education Hub, spanning 6.5 acres of land. It will also become a new landmark in Elmina West, City of Elmina, developed by Sime Darby.

The school development comprises a 4-storey, 200,000-square-foot building that includes an Administrative Office, Classrooms, and various Facilities such as Laboratories, a Library, a Sports Hall, a Performing Arts Centre, and Art Studios. The school will be managed by two different operators: IDRISSI Setia Alam and Sekolah Tinta.

The front section of the administrative office will also serve as the Corporate Office for GAINS Education Group, a holding company that owns 70 private education centres across Malaysia and Indonesia, from Preschool to Primary and Secondary levels.

The building is designed with single-loaded corridors and a back-to-back classroom configuration to encourage natural cross-ventilation, supported by large openable windows. These fenestrations work in tandem with the school’s distinctive and colorful façade features and overhangs to regulate daylight, reduce glare, and minimize heat buildup.

The open corridors loop around a central courtyard are protected by perforated metal sunscreens, shielding them from weather elements. Natural ventilation ensures the school remains breezy and comfortable throughout the day. The well-thought-out internal layout, with flexible interstitial spaces, fosters a conducive environment for continuous student learning through interaction and creative exploration.

The school’s design adopts a people- and environmentally-friendly biophilic architecture approach, resulting in a comfortable, engaging, and stimulating learning environment that inspires creativity and a lifelong love of learning, aligning with the school’s vision.
